Yoshika Masuda - Cello
Cellist Yoshika Masuda has performed as soloist, recitalist and chamber musician throughout his native Japan, Australia, the US and Europe in prestigious venues such as the Mozarteum in Salzburg, the Opera House in Sydney, the Dai-ichi Seimei Hall in Tokyo and the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. Yoshika is the winner of national competitions in Australia, Japan and the US and was also awarded the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe String Award.
Born in Kobe, Japan, Yoshika first started playing the cello at the age of five. He studied with Hannah Roberts and Ralph Kirshbaum at the Royal Northern College of Music in the UK and the USC Thornton School of Music respectively. Yoshika was recently appointed Assistant Professor of Music and Director of String Studies at California Lutheran University in Los Angeles.
