Vasilije Katanic is a composer and performer originally from Pittsburgh, currently based in Los Angeles. Currently an composition undergrad at USC, Vasilije sings tenor for professional groups such as Camerata Rus, an a cappella choir specializing in Russian sacred music. He is also a multi-instrumentalist, playing regularly on accordion as well as trumpet and piano. On trumpet, he has performed with the Pittsburgh Philharmonic and with USC’s Concerto Chamber Orchestra. In 2014, he received an honorable mention from the Frost School of Music’s "The Other Competition” contest for an original composition. He currently studies composition with Sean Friar, and has studied with other award winning composers such as Ted Hearne and Todd Goodman.
