Rylan Daniels

Rylan J. Daniels was born in Los Angeles in 2001. He is a 9th grader at Windward School. He has been studying piano privately for seven years, and has been studying composition with Thomas Kotcheff and Adam Borecki. Rylan created an animated film "A Brave Soldier and the Golden Duck" based on a classic Polish legend "Zlota kaczka" where he won an Award of Merit from the PTSA 10th District California Congress. In summers 2015 and 2016, Rylan participated in the Sunset ChamberFest Young Composer’s Workshop. He composes for Windward’s Chamber Ensemble and the Advanced Instrumental Ensemble. He is also studying the erhu, and plays in a Chinese instrumental ensemble. He is currently scoring a feature length film about the Holocaust.
