Andrew Courtney

Andrew Courtney is a sophomore in the Piano program at the Orange County School of the Arts.  He has been composing for four years, studied the piano for 11 years and sung with the All-American Boys Chorus for 7 years, first as a soprano and currently as a member in the Graduate Chorus a capella group.. 

As a pianist, Andrew has won multiple MTAC competitions, and has been selected to participate in masterclasses with Nina Scolnik, Lucinda Carver, and Edward Francis.   He was a member of a piano trio that won first place in the American Fine Arts Festival and subsequently performed in Carnegie Hall.  The group also placed in the Wildflower Music Showcase International Recording Competition.  

As a composer, Andrew has had multiple pieces performed, notably several arrangements for the All-American Boys Chorus that were performed for large audiences at the Irvine Barclay Theater.  He participated in a masterclass with Narong Prangcharoen, composer in residence for the Pacific Symphony.  Last summer, he studied composition at the California Summer Music camp.  Andrew looks forward to composing throughout his high school years.
